I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.ĪNY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems. Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. A typical error message would be something like, 'The file cannot be opened.' This is a fairly common problem with Windows Media Player because Microsoft does not develop Shockwave Flash Objects. Currently, the use of Shockwave flash objects on the web page is quite popular. This animated file, created in Flash, cannot be edited normally. SWF or Shockwave flash file is used mostly on the web site. ![]() #Problems with shockwave flash player downloadSo far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. What Problems are Associated with Shockwave Flash Object One of the most common errors encountered with Shockwave Flash Objects happens when a user attempts to open Shockwave Flash Object with a program that does not support the file format. Shockwave Flash Plugin Download For Chrome, Firefox, Opera. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. Each has a distinct purpose: The Macromedia Flash Player displays content created with Macromedia Flash such as web application front-ends, high-impact website user interfaces, interactive online advertising, and short-form to long-form animation. (See: IE11's Screwed up User-Agent Strings) The Macromedia Flash Player and the Shockwave Player are both free web players from Macromedia. MS deliberately altered the "User-Agent Strings" to make it nearly IMPOSSIBLE for pages and sites to ID it. Since you didnt mention what errors you are getting, I cant address them except to suggest that you go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and remove any Flash and Shockwave entries. ![]() #Problems with shockwave flash player fullEven with WIndows 7, it's a mess, but not ALL THE TIME like it is with 8 or 8.1 The Shockwave and Flash Players are separate programs which enable you to play/see web content created with the full Shockwave and Flash creators. You can have both and disable one if you wanted, say if you wanted to run the intel onboard, but if they run at the same time, you get the problem you. Administrative privileges are required for the Windows system registry and for the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Adobe\Shockwave folder. #Problems with shockwave flash player installBasically as far as I can see, you had both intel and amd drivers installed, thus causing the problems. If you don't have administrator access to Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 you can't install Shockwave Player successfully. Combined with 8.1 it is, without a doubt, the worst pile of garbage to EVER come out of Redmond, WA. The Adobe Shockwave Flash Player always crashes. The physical files arelocated in C/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash and C/Windows/SysWOW64/Macromed/Flash. Flash Player is a "plug-in", NOT an app, so you'll NEVER find it in the program files, or in the start menu. ![]()
